Broken ATM Machine And Blogging
I was just reading problogger, I like reading about how he became successful. I get a tip every once in a while but more than anything it is motivational to read about someone who is actually making some money blogging.
Today he referred to making money like an ATM machine – I can’t hear those words without thinking of all the day traders that have told me that.
Anyway, this got me thinking about all the business I have started and been involved in. I lost count a long time ago. Plus all the people I have been involved with and watching the way they make money.
I owned a building one time and rented an apartment to a lady who worked for 40 years on an assembly line she was getting a retirement of $600 a month. I sold that building and made more money on it that she made in her entire life, and she probably did more work in a week than I did on the entire project.
Life isn’t fair and how hard you work does not have that much to do with how much you make.
Ok, to bring this back around to blogging, if you want to have a money making system that works like an ATM then start day trading, what ever you do don’t blog. The money just isn’t there.
I have had dozens of day traders tell me, I sit here for an hour and I make $10,000 – I do this 5 days a week – it’s just like having my own ATM machine I can withdraw $10,000 per day from.
I have had another dozen day traders tell me the same thing only they were making $5,000 per day working about an hour, sometimes 2 hours.
The exact number escapes me, I didn’t keep that close of track each time I heard this. But with Blogging I can tell you exactly how many people have told me they blog for an hour and make $5,000 or $10,000 the number is exactly zero.
I have heard about a couple of bloggers who work 12 or 18 hours a day and can make $10,000 a month after a few years.
So the bottom line is if you want to make a lot of money in a short time, forget about blogging, the fast short term money is just not there.
Here is the article from problogger.net that got me started on this.
