Checking On Blogger

I just switched this site over to blogger to make it easier to post and update and the first day Blogger.com is not working, or at least not working right.

It looks like blogger is completely down, so I wanted to send a quick post with Microsoft Word to see what it would do.

Some of my posts made it and some of them didn't. I really need to start being more careful, I have been using blogger on another site and I have grown very lazy and stopped doing backups.  It looks like I need to be a little less trusting and start my backups again.

I made a few posts with blogger from the Blogger.com site, all those posts were lost.  So if you’re using blogger from their site be very careful.

I made several posts using Microsoft Word, many of them were delayed but none of them were lost.

This makes me like the Microsoft Word add-on for blogger even more.

Since the blogger site is not working right I have been looking at some alternative software.

My requirements are:

• Must have software with a good spell checker


• Must run on my computer – online publishing is way to slow


• Easy to run


• Fast to publish – one or two clicks


• Must be able to make backups and reinstall without a lot of work


• Not too complicated – I don’t want to spend months trying to figure something out

With this list of requirements there is exactly one blog that will do all of these, Blogger.com

From my hours of searching today I can’t even find something that will come in a close second.

Blogger is back online now, and it saved all my posts that were sent in with Word.  The nice part I noticed was that I don’t even have to republish or anything, the next time I send off a post it automatically adds any unpublished posts.

That was very nice.
