James Martell Got Me Interested In Making Money Online

I originally got interested in making money online from reading about James Martell making $100,000 a month from Adsense.  I thought this was great, sounded like easy work and that is some serious money.

This was over a year ago, and I really went about it all wrong.  I was as interested in learning as much as I could as I was interested in making money.  In fact now that I look back based on my actions I was probably more interested in learning that making money.

The first mistake I made was trying to learn everything about setting up, running, and marketing a web site.  And I really blew it when I decided that I would learn how to program HTML and PHP.

If you want to be a programmer and write programs then these are good things to know, but to learn all this just to write a web page or two is a terrific waste of time.  I would actually say that most of the time I would be better off not knowing what I know.  Because I know enough to get myself in a lot of trouble when it comes to programming.

I just looked at a site for sale and I was thinking I could move this and I could change that.  These things are really minor and have nothing to do with the sites ability to make money.  However I could easily spend 80 to 200 hours fiddling with the code to get it just the way I want it.  If I didn’t know about these things most of the time I would be much better off.

James Martell bought 1 template and just used it for all his web sites.  Toward the end of 2004 he ran into some trouble and then he bought a second template.

That’s what I should have done.

Anyway if you’re interested in seeing someone who makes $100,000’s a month publishing web sites:  www.jamesmartell.com
