SitePoint :: Execellent Place To Find Sites For Sale

I signed up for sitepoint.com they seem to have about the same amount of people selling their web sites as dnforum.com.

There is no charge to sign up for sitepoint and I got my verification email within seconds, and was able to post a reply to a site for sale instantly.

This site seems very straight forward, I am not confused about what they are trying to do, and it looks like they don’t try to get you to sign up first, then try and charge you later.

There is a little button at the top of their pages that says:

• List your site now for $9.95

So I like that they tell you what it’s going to cost before they ask you for the money.

I was thinking that if you have a little money, then your time is probably better spent educating yourself on how to buy a web site at a good price, rather than how to start a web site on your own.

It has taken me over a year to figure out how to:

• Program HTML


• Set up hosting


• Learn SEO


• Figure out advertising online

After a couple thousand hours of my time, I have a web site that is making enough to pay for my coffee, as long as I limit myself to once or twice a week.

Anyone with some business sense could figure out the basics of buying a web site in less than a week.  Then if you paid $1000 for one that was making $100 per month, and then did nothing else it would pay back your investment in less than a year.

Then you would have a site making $100 per month and you would have spent only a few hours of your time.
