Websites Up For Sale
The websites that I see for sale a lot are:
- Proxy sites
- Hosting
- Forums
- Template
The Template sites are just that, someone buys a domain name for $8 and then tries to turn around and sell it for $35 to $300 by uploading a template. Nothing wrong with that but I would just rather buy my own template and upload it myself.
When you look at 10 minutes of work I don’t really like the idea of paying someone $300 for that.
So far I have not seen a single Adsense site (other than the template ones) go up for sale. I guess if you have a good income with little or no work then why would you want to sell it.
I don’t want to spend the time with a forum site, although I think you can make some good money with these you will be looking at taking on a full time job. For a large forum you will be working many hours every day. With an income of $2,000 to $3,000 per month you will probably be working almost full time in addition to investing a lot of money.
The black hat forum was making a couple thousand per month, hard to say, the income was a little iffy. And the seller wanted more than $75,000 for it. I think if someone could show $2000 per month and it was likely that the income would continue then I think a good deal would be $20,000 to $25,000.
When you start getting into:
- If you got a lot more traffic
- If you increased sales
- If you added more Adsense ads
- If you sent out more newsletters
The best reason for selling a website is still:
I have to sell because I am tried of working 16 hours a day.
Income for the site $2000 per month.
Well, if the owner is tired of working so many hours why would I want to take on that job?
At lease he is honest and not telling you that it’s only 5 minutes a week to run the site.
