Selling Words With Links

Just looking online how some people are making money.  The subject always fascinates me.  

Here is a guy who came up with an idea from the million dollar home page, he just switched the pixels for words. http://www.1000wordpage.com/ Not a bad idea.

Then this guy took the idea and improved it so that you could add color and different attributes to the links http://500words.com/ then after he sold a bunch of these and made $100,000 now he wants to sell the site for $75,000  http://www.linksizzler.com/  

If your thinking about buying timing would be critical on something like this, it may last for another week then fizzle out, in which case you just wasted your money when you could have just copied the idea like this guy.  http://www.97tags.com/  and paid nothing.

The problem I have with all of these are that sure if you have some brilliant marketing you can make $100,000 or a million dollars but after someone has sucked all the money out of the idea how much is left for me.  

And if the site really did manage to recoup the investment at some point how long would it take and is it likely to keep making money next year when everyone and their mother are selling identical products for $9.99 on ebay?

I admire people who come up with an original idea and really cash in on it, but the bottom line is it really does not help me at all, I need something that is repeatable and will be around next month, maybe even next year.   Because I can’t come up with new ideas every week and then get people to pay me $75,000 for them, but more power to the people who can.
