Debt Collections and Skip Tracing

There are a couple people who owe me some money and I have decided that I am going to have a collections agency collect on them.

At first I was looking around the internet trying to find someone who would give me a better rate, it seems like the rates vary usually between 50% on the high side to around 15 or 20% on the low side.

So I spent several hours searching trying to find a good rate, I figured any debt collections company that does not give you their rate is probably 50% or more.

Some charge 50% plus you pay all expenses up front, and then they still take their 50% of any money collected.

I had a case a couple years ago where the debt collection company made a lot more than I did because I paid all expenses, so you really have to be careful with that, because sometimes the debt collection expenses can be a lot of money.

I sent out some emails after doing all my research and go no responses, so then I started looking for skip tracers, I just need to find out where these people are working then I can collect on them myself.

I was hoping I could find some collection agency that would do some of the work for free, or for they part of the fee.

But so far no luck, I have emailed 12 debt collectors, and skip tracers and I have received two responses both saying they only do large commercial accounts.

So not exactly a great response, I understand it though, if I was in the business I would want an easy debt for $100,000 that was a snap to collect. That $50,000 for little work what could be easier. But my case is not a lot of money and not that easy since they will have to find out where the person works.

I was going to list all the places I researched, but so far I have looked at a couple dozen and either they don't list a price or they don't respond to email.

They all have a form they want you to fill out, and of course that's what I want to do, spend 10 minutes telling them all my personal information so they can ignore me.

Also a couple of them wanted me to enter one of those long captch things that I can't read so I just go to the next one that will list an email address with out making me spend 10 minutes guessing at their stupid combinations of unreadable letters to try and send them an email

They should just post a message that says we don't want your business go somewhere else.
