Getting New Computer Set Up for the Stock Market
Trying to get set up for Monday's trading.
My old computer just was not cutting it, I missed a $3000 trade on Wednesday and on Thursday I was slowed down by $200 on a stock I bought so in two days I lost $3200.
I just keep thinking that would have paid for a really nice new computer.
But I have my new computer and I ended up getting a intel Core 2 quad processor Q9400
From the computers that Frys had it seems to be the one that would run the programs fast enough for me at the cheapest price. It was $799.00 plus tax.
Most of the $900 to $1000 computers used the same chip, so my guess is that they would have the same speed. They had TV hookups, which I don’t need or larger hard drives, which I also don’t need.
The 750 GB hard drive is plenty big for me.
The amount of time it has taken me to set this computer us is unreal. I guess when you do things over years you don’t think about how many hours you have invested in configuring and installing stuff.
But when you try to do it all at once it becomes painfully obvious.
Really glad I started on a Friday, so I can have everything close enough to trade on Monday.
I still have to figure out how to copy my layouts for my charts.
I have noticed something, that when I type with a word processor it seems to mess up the word wrap feature for some reason. Not sure why that is happening. But it seems to be a problem with the longer sentences.
