Looked into the chat room at #Daytraders on IRC.
This is a free chat room to get to it you can buy the mIRC software or do what I did and install Trillian, it's free and works the same.
A little complicated to set up but if you keep Googling stuff you can get it working.

#DayTraders is a real-time portal where you can join like-minded individuals to freely express ideas and techniques for trading stocks, futures, and options.

After the first day I decided this really wasn't for me, there are a lot of people chatting about all kinds of stuff, with a little stock talk in between.

For the whole day I saw one person post one stock that they were trading. like "Bought IMB here".

So maybe one person actually placed a trade, no one else seemed interested in trading much.

At least on TimAlerts chat you get people saying I wish I would have bought XYZ yesterday and kept it.

anyway, there are a lot of people in this chat room, if you just want to socialize with people who have something to do with the stock market, or are at least a little interested in the stock market some how.

almost no actual trading looks like it's going on here, or even much if any talk about actual trading.

If your bored and just want people to hand out with this looks like a great place.

They do seem to kick out people on a regular basis, like every hour or so. The reasons don't always seem clear, something like bad morals, will get you kicked out evidently.

So there is not much arguing or fighting, which is kind of nice. If there is any disagreement, then one of the people gets kicked out and that's the end of it.
