Link Machine

I have lost count of the hours I have spent trying to figure out how to save some time with my links pages.  I know I have spend hundreds of hours.

Now I am running into a new problem, I am installing software that does not work and wasting time trying to figure it out only to find that it's the same software that I installed several months ago, it didn't work then either.

I was just about to give up and decided that this process of looking for links software it such a waste of time that I am going to permanently give up on it and just write my own linking web pages from now on.

With the hundreds of hours I have wasted I could have just done the html code on hundreds of pages.

The links are a bit of a pain, and for some reason I really want a catalog page that includes the number of links, with this I have increased my workload, with each link I have to update my catalog number and then upload that page to my server also.

 Well I have just started to use LinkMachine.net it is a really great program.

The main features that really save you time are:
  • creats your links pages with a directory
  • lists the number of links in each category
  • sends out your email requests
  • keeps track of who contacted and when
  • checks for reciprocal links 
  • will fetch information from sites your interested in
  • easy to add a template to make pages match your site
  • static links to pages
The first thing that attracted me to this program was the index page it creates with the number of links in each category, it really bugs me to go to some site and see 20 categories of link pages and I start clicking only to find half of them are empty, what a waste of time.

 When you run the program it has a scary message that says you have 9 days to register, what it does after your time is up is turn off the premium features like:

  • instant link exchanges
  • downloading links from pages and websites
Everything else works just fine and it is still an extremely useful program even without the premium features.

The feature that I use a lot more than I thought I would is the "fetch info" feature, you can type in a sites web address and it will get the sites:
  • name
  • description
  • email address - if they have one
This can save you time typing this information in when your putting in new sites.
