The first time I read about someone who had a goal of writing 10 web pages a day, I thought it was crazy. It sounded like something that was impossible to achieve, completely out of my realm of possibilities. I thought if I could write one page a day it would be a miracle, but... 10 Web Pages Written todayToday I wrote 10 pages and got them all up and running. It was not as hard as I thought it would be. I did work most of the day on publishing these web pages. But if you look at this as a full time job and work at least 6 hours a day I think that 10 pages a day would not be unreasonable goal. My biggest problem is still my procrastination, and spending too much time:
I did take pieces of previous sites and use them, so that saved some time, every site you set up you want to have:
So from these 4 pages you only have one page of content on the index page. I took all the pages from another site and just modified them using my latest HTML editor Page Breeze. It is really surprising how much time the folders menu saves me, when you are working on a web site you are usually working on several pages not just one. This editor allows you to jump between files with just one click, and jump between the html code and a WYSIWYG editor with one click, this saves a lot of time. I also have a program that will do a search and replace in a whole directory that I use frequently, it works ok but it is a nag ware and has some bugs in it, so I will just wait and pay for something else that works better. Publishing 27 Web Pages per dayJames Martel has a goal of publishing 27 pages a day for the year of 2005 this will give him 10,000 pages in a year, if he works a couple extra web pages in on a few different days. This seems like a very ambsious goal, but after today's success with my 10 pages I think it is possible for someone who works hard everyday. Or for someone who hires a lot of the work out.
