Day Two with Timothy Sykes TimAlerts

Timothy Sykes issued an email with the following:

Shorted 100 ISRL Right Near The Market Open….this stock has doubled from the $60 to $120 range all due to russell rebalancing last Friday…just shorted 100 shares at $118, not a great execution, but I’m not gonna try to save $20–$300 and risk a big drop…my goal is to cover this under $100 in the next few days once reason kicks in…cut losses at $130+ although I’ll consider adding to this position since the runup is all due to a temporary event that has come and gone

time 6:41 for the email around 6:42 or 6:43 for the posted alert on the site.
someone in the chat room shorted the stock at 113.00

getting in 12 minutes late and 5 points lower is probably not a winning proposition in the long run for a day trader.

I was really hoping that the alerts would be real time where I would have some chance to follow along, but it's looking like that's not really a possibility.

so while the alerts are interesting to see what he is doing, you can read about it the next day on covestor for free.

not sure why he wouldn't post about it in the chat room? this really makes the chat room about as useless as all the other chat rooms I have been on, only the other ones are for free. I think you can just get on any chat room and hear people chatting about buying and selling.

today it was funny, people saying they bought and sold, something,
mostly comments like "hey did you see that move 5 or 10 minutes ago?"
someone said I sold xyz,
someone else asked how many shares did you short?
he answered I sold the shares I bought yesterday.

the people in this room do seem to be polite and no name calling,
someone was promoting their chat room or something, I didn't really notice anything, but then I guess they got kicked out.

seems to be some server problems, the chat room hung up twice on me and I have to close it out and start it up again, if more than a couple minutes go by and no one is talking then it's a server problem.

someone asked a question:

i've asked this before, but can anyone here explain the russel 3000 play here? why did these stocks rise so sharply, and why does tim expect them to drop back down

he was ignored.

I guess my expectations were really high, and I have to face the fact that all chat rooms are about the same, other than some allow name calling and arguing and some don't.
