wblogger desktop blog posting software

Decided to try www.wblogger.com software.

On their site there are 3 different downloads, not sure which one and not much description.
It looks like the firefox version is 6.4 megs and the Internet Explorer version is only 1.9 not sure about this?

I have spent tons of hours looking for some type of software that I can publish a website with that works as good or better than xsitepro, and for all the time I have invested in this I could just buy another copy of xsitepro and keep using it.

So I have given up my search, but I have decided to try one last thing. The major reason that I don't like blogger is that I like to have an easy way to find the pages I want to refer back to. I use my site to look up things I need to know.

For example I just registered a domain name at Godaddy, if you use a coupon code you can renew your domain name for $7.50 instead of $9.99

The problem is that I can keep track of these codes, so I want to have an index page where I can go and look for information like this, if it is buried in some post dated a month ago I can never remember this, and looking through bloggers pages trying to find something that is only referenced by date is a real pain.

So my new idea is to publish posts with blogger and then keep an index page where I detail all the posts that I will want to refer back to in the future.

If this works it will solve most of my problems.

If not, then I will go back to xsitepro.

the only other option is trying windows live writer, it looks like they keep moving the pages around but you can try

http://download.live.com/ or http://get.live.com/

if those don't work then hunt around for it, now when you try to search using msn it switches you to bing.com ??? really weird.

ok, I think I have figured this out, you need to be on this exact page:

http://download.live.com/writer then you have to click the box on the right, then click the try again box.

it looks like you have to have one of these operating systems:

"Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (32-bit edition only), Windows Vista (32-bit or 64-bit editions), Windows 7 Beta (32-bit or 64-bit editions), or Windows Server 2008."

and I don't so I guess I won't be using it right now.

side note:

ran across this site (which is very hard to figure out)

www.scribefire.com

took me a while, but I found the add-on here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1730

and it looks like it is suppose to work with blogger.

ok, back to wblogger...

I have installed wblogger and made a few posts with it, so far it works great.
I can pull up old posts and edit them,
I can edit the template.
everything seems to work just fine.
it allows blockquotes and I can attach a url to some text.
all things I wanted to do.

the spell checker is the old style where you have to click a button and it goes through one word at a time and looks for things that are misspelled.

this a little annoying when I have gotten used to the windows in firefox underlining in red any of my poorly spelled words.

Now it looks like I have a new problem with my new host not wanting to allow blogger to upload files through their ftp.  Not sure what the problems is but it's not working at the moment.

So I am just going to stick with xsitepro since it seems to be working right now.
